Grittleton House
Set within the famous Cotswolds, Grittleton House is surrounded by one of the most celebrated landscapes in the country — rolling parkland, honey-stone villages and timeless country lanes. It may be a little further to travel, but it is a destination in its own right, and we hope you will find the journey worthwhile. For those who are able, we would love for you to stay nearby and enjoy the cotswold experience. As the Cotswolds is a highly sought-after destination, local accommodation tends to be reserved well in advance, so we recommend securing a place to stay early.

Why we chose Grittleton House
We still remember the moment we first walked into Grittleton House. The architecture stopped us in our tracks: tall ceilings, sweeping staircases, and timeless beauty but at the same time it felt cosy, lived-in, and welcoming almost like being invited into someone’s home rather than a venue. It managed to be both magnificent and intimate at the same time, which was exactly what we were looking for.
When we met Vanessa, the current owner, everything made sense. Grittleton House has been her family home for generations; her husband grew up here, and their family still spends time in the house today. You can feel that in the atmosphere — the warmth, the laughter in the walls, the sense of stories already lived here.
The house itself has a wonderful history. Parts of the original Jacobean manor date back to the 17th century, and in the 1800s it was transformed into the elegant Victorian mansion it is today. It is now a Grade II* listed country house, recognised for its architectural and historic significance. Over the centuries, it has seen family life, gatherings, celebrations, and now — very soon — our wedding.
